Please note: If your pet is scheduled through this Friends of Pets sponsored/free clinic, you do not need to obtain a Friends of Pets coupon for the appointment.

The sponsored portion of the spay or neuter procedure does not cover extra fees associated with the following conditions:

Pregnant females
Males with undescended testicle(s).
Brachycephalic pets (smooshed-nosed)

Pets seven years or older require a senior exam by our vet before our clinic will perform surgery. Request a senior spay/neuter exam appointment.

Male pets with undescended testicles are considered a “cryptorchid.”

The procedure to neuter those pets will be more complex, and the Alaska SPCA clinic limits the number of these procedures performed daily.

An additional cost, typically $90-$200, will be due at pick-up time.

If you are not sure whether your pet is brachycephalic, please refer to our FAQ page which contains a list of brachycephalic cat and dog breeds.

Brachycephalic pets will receive medication to prevent nausea. The amount and charge for the medication are based on the pet's weight at check-in and payment is due at pick-up.

I request the Alaska SPCA to perform the above services on my animal and agree to waive all claims for damages against its officers, employees, volunteers, and contractual agents in the event of escape, injury, or death of the animal.

Initials* I understand that my deposit covers only the services selected and paid for as part of this submission. Any charges resulting from additional diagnostic tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, vaccines, microchips, or fees on the date of service are due to be paid at the time of pick up.

Initials* I understand that the Alaska SPCA requires cats and dogs to have a current rabies vaccination in order to receive services. I will either provide proof of a current rabies certificate or I will authorize the Alaska SPCA to vaccinate my pet. If a rabies vaccine is required, I agree to pay the charge for the vaccination.

Initials* I understand that I must provide 24-hour notice to the Alaska SPCA if I cannot keep my appointment. If I do not give the required cancellation notice, I understand that my deposit for the appointment will be forfeited. Notice should be emailed to customerhelp@alaskaspca.org or by phone to our clinic at (907) 562-2999.

Initials* I agree to pick up my pet in the time specified. If I do not pick up my pet by 1:00 pm, I agree to pay a late fee of $20 for every five minutes I am late.

To book a spay/neuter appointment, we require a $90 deposit at the time of booking.

You may cancel and receive a refund of your payment (less the convenience fee) if we have received the cancellation notice at least one business day before your pet's appointment date.

Your deposit can be used toward the cost of vaccinations or microchips. Expect to pay at least $90 today; it may be more if you select "add-ons" that exceed $90. The unused portion of deposits will be refunded after the surgery has been completed.
